A while back, my 7-year-old daughter wanted to celebrate her birthday with an ice cream-themed party (gross, I know!)

Ice Cream Birthday Cake Recipe
This convenient recipe can be used with any flavor of cake and frosting. If you love cake like mine, just follow the instructions below!

Pour the room temperature ganache over the cake until it is completely covered. If it is too hot, it will melt the cream.
Neapolitan “melting Ice Cream Cone” Cake
Glaze the cake with the room temperature ganache, using the back of a spoon to drizzle the ganache over the edge of the cake.
Doing this too early will result in a submerged sprinkler. Doing it too late means the sprinklers won’t stop at all.

Easter Ice Cream Cake
Making homemade ice cream cakes may seem difficult at first, but it’s surprisingly easy. Just remember that freezing takes time, and you need to make sure you have enough freezer space for the cake. There is nothing worse than doing all the work to start a cake only to realize that there is not enough room in the freezer!
Ice cream – I recommend using real dairy ice cream. Sometimes you’ll see ice cream labeled “frozen dessert,” which can be confusing. Ice cream is made from milk fat, while frozen desserts use oil fat instead. I find that “frozen desserts” don’t soften as well and don’t refreeze well.
Chocolate Cake – You can use my favorite chocolate cake recipe and freeze the extra two layers in the recipe or container. It turns you on!
Upside Down Ice Cream Cone Cake
Hot Fudge – Again, feel free to use a hot fudge recipe or buy it from the store. The hot fudge is not just to decorate the cake but to help the Oreos stick to the cake layer. Using an alternative like chocolate syrup won’t work because it won’t stick properly.
1. Line an 8-inch pan with plastic wrap. Transfer all the ice cream to a lined baking pan and cover with another layer of plastic wrap. Press down in the layout and freeze.
2. Prepare and cool an 8-inch chocolate cake and cover the top with chocolate fudge sauce using a spatula.

4. Remove the ice cream layer from the freezer, remove it, and place it on top of the fudge. Wrap it all in plastic and put it in the freezer while you make the cream.
5. Combine the cold cream, sugar, and vanilla and mix starting at the bottom. Gradually increase the speed to high and mix until soft peaks form. Finish by whipping the cream by hand until stiff peaks form. See the sour cream recipe for more instructions.
6. Cover the cake with whipped cream and transfer the rest to a piping bag fitted with a large closed star (846).
Red Velvet Ice Cream Cake (with No Churn Homemade Ice Cream)
8. Pipe a pattern on the top edge of the cake with the reserved whipped cream. Press the crumbled cookies on the bottom side, and the cake is ready to serve.
Store the ice cream cake in the freezer for up to 30 minutes before you are ready to serve, then transfer to the refrigerator or counter. You need to keep the cake in the freezer as it will melt if it is stored for a long time in the refrigerator. Transferring the cake to the fridge or counter for 30 minutes will allow the ice cream layer to soften as there isn’t a ton of resistance when cutting but is still firm enough to enjoy.
I recommend using whipped cream for the frosting as it freezes wonderfully without cracking or changing consistency. This ice cream is also good as it melts at the same speed and has the same consistency as the cream layer, so it all blends together well.
